We got the boat from Bangkok to the island of Koh Tao.
The vibe was much more chilled on the islands in comparison to the city and a lot cleaner! It was magic at night too with all of the lights and lanterns. It was bliss.

And it wouldn't be Thailand without the beach, sunsets and long boats.

Koh Tao was fantastic for snorkeling and diving tours and we had such lush weather which really set the beach vibe.
There was loads of restaurants and hippie shisha / rasta bars. We stayed in only as I can describe as a giant tree house. Climbing huge sets of stairs to get to our dorms. The owners had 2 dogs just chilling like they own the place - they basically did. There were lots of friendly south american backpackers, chatting away in Spanish, playing guitar, cards and drinking their terrible tea that tastes like gravy.

Across the road from our hostel was a rasta bar. It was so alternative we loved it. It was hidden away in what looked like a bus that lead down into a wooden tree house den with loads of floors with live music, drinking, smoking, dancing, beanbags and puppies! It was my favourite place ever and I didn't want to leave.

We booked a snorkelling tour and poor Crystal, I'll give her credit, she can't swim! So I pulled her round in her life jacket so she could see the fishes and the turtles! I tired very quickly swimming for two people with the buoyancy aid giving extra resistance in the water. I felt guilty swimming away from her but she told me to go and that she will just float around for a bit. The snorkelling group really looked out for her which was great. We helped her to swim over to the steps to get back in the boat.

My back got so burnt from the snorkelling it was insane! Someone had given us their Banana Boat sunscreen which did absolutely nothing! Trying to sleep was painful and some she-beast in my room didn't stop snoring grrrr.
One of the guys in our hostel was living out there and brought us to a fire show that following night and showed us the best bars, clubs and places to eat.

Me and Crystal even braved the fire limbo! - sort of..

If I could, I would have spent longer here than 3 days. There was so much to do and see and I would definitely recommend doing your Padi (Scuba Diving) Licence here.

The next day we travelled to Koh Phangang for the Full Moon Party!
